I had to go out of town for two days, so I will catch up this weekend.

This one is actually a lakehouse.  So the view from the bed is water.  The bed was existing but we included it from the original home to this new home.  This project was a great use of existing pieces and new ideas.  I will continue this later today, but I wanted to get it out there for you to review.

MIxing Old and New with custom touches–

I found the Tibetan carving over the bed in a gallery in SoHo.  The artwork is from the client’s own collection.  the fireplace was found in New Orleans,  and I had the chaise made especially for the wife – fit to her size.

They have a fabulous collection of antique rugs, so all of our color schemes came from those.
And I know you see the mural in the master bath to the left.  I’ll tell you all about this and the romantic details when I return to the blog later today.

Later – the mural – My client had taken a photo of a fountain with a statue that was a lovely romantic scene when she and her husband were in Italy.  She had saved it and always loved it.   So we hired my favorite local artist, Don Jacobs.  He does these fantasticly beautiful murals.  We had it done in sepia tones.  It has this tone on tone thing going on and is subtle and sensual and just enough for the bathroom wall.
